Course: Living a Mystically-Driven Life: Thérèse of Lisieux and Ruth Burrows

Living a Mystically-Driven Life: Thérèse of Lisieux and Ruth Burrows

M-F; Jan. 6-17 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

TS 7383-36 | DSE8316

It is perhaps more than a happy coincidence that the contemporary Carmelite nun Ruth Burrows was born in the year that St. Thérèse of Lisieux was beatified, 1923. Through very different personalities, these women both vividly demonstrate that empty-handedness is the way to fullness in the Christian life.  They are exemplars of what it means to be taken into the heart of the Trinity through, with and in Jesus in the midst of our inescapable spiritual inadequacies. This course provides the opportunity to contemplate the life and writings of each of these women.
