Scholarships
Oblate School of Theology offers opportunities for qualifying students to receive scholarship funding.
Tuition Assistance
Oblate School of Theology serves students who are primarily interested in ministry. Therefore, OST endeavors to control costs as much as possible and support a strong educational program. Generous support by the Missionary Oblates of the United States enables OST to maintain lower tuition rates. OST offers Tuition Assistance each semester for those students who demonstrate a financial need and qualify by being enrolled at least half-time in a degree program.
Applications may be obtained from the Finance Office and must be submitted to the Finance Office. Only one application per academic year is required; however, funds will not be awarded retroactively if the application is not submitted prior to the deadlines. Financial assistance through OST’s own resources is competitive and limited. Institutional financial assistance must be re-applied for each academic year. The deadlines are as follows:
- July 1st for consideration for the Academic Year or Fall semester
- November 1st for consideration for the Spring semester
- April 1st for consideration for the Summer session
Qualifications:
1. The student must meet the admission requirements for acceptance into OST and their particular degree program and must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
2. The student must presently be or plan to be in full-time ministry.
3. Submit all required documentation.
Priority will be given to Roman Catholics or those engaged in ministry at settings sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church. Special consideration will also be given to those ministering in settings which are underserved, serve the poor and/or the abandoned. Other applicants will be considered. The decision will be made by OST Scholarship Committee in conjunction with the appropriate program director.
The following are annual scholarships:
1. OST Tuition Assistance can range from $500 to $10,000. The Committee will only consider aid for up to one-third of the tuition.
2. The Gordon Family Scholarship – One scholarship will be awarded per academic year in an amount up to $500.
