Melody V. Escobar is a third-year doctoral student in Christian spirituality. Her experience includes a former career in corporate communications and human resources management spanning 18 years. In addition, she has served as a Roman Catholic lay minister for more than 10 years in various capacities such as extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, lector, prayer team ministry leader, evangelization committee member, jail ministry team member, past speaker and teacher for the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal, and ACTS leader and speaker. She also worked as a chaplain resident for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio. She is an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, Texas. Married 25 years, she is devoted mother of three children. Her scholarly interests include women mystics with a concentration on the spiritual texts of Julian of Norwich, feminist theology, disabilities, animals and religion, and spirituality and health research. She desires to contribute to research and published works in the field of Christian spirituality to promote the voices and flourishing of the marginalized.
