Dr. Marden is assistant professor of pastoral studies at Oblate School of Theology. She teaches in the area of evangelization and faith formation. In addition to teaching Master’s and Doctoral level courses, she enjoys offering Continuing Education lectures and workshops, as well as parish lectures and missions.

She served as Associate Dean for Continuing Education at Oblate School of Theology (2008-2016); and as Associate Academic Dean (2005- 2008). She has been an instructor in deacon formation programs in the (arch)dioceses of San Antonio, San Angelo, and Lubbock (2005 -2016). She is a regular instructor in the Lay Ministry Institute (2005- 2016). She served as Pastoral Associate in San Antonio, TX (1997- 2005). She taught as faculty for the San Antonio Archdiocesan Catechetical Center catechist certificate programs. Her ministry includes being on RCIA teams in California, Virginia and San Antonio, functioning as director at two of those parishes. She earned the Professional Catechist certificate through the San Antonio Archdiocesan Catechetical Center (1997). She served on the San Antonio Forum on the Catechumenate, as steering committee member and instructor for archdiocesan workshops. She has 40+ years of experience in faith formation. She was an elementary school teacher, in Maine, Missouri, and North Dakota.

Academic interests

I am interested in the areas of evangelization, Christian Initiation, and adult faith formation.
