Experience


Prof. Dale M. Schlitt, OMI, taught in philosophy and theology at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada, for 29 years, including 15 years as University Rector. He presently teaches in the Ph.D. program in spirituality at Oblate School of Theology. He holds an S.T.L., Gregorian University, Rome, and a Ph.D. in Religion, Claremont Graduate University, California. His research includes work at the Widner Library in Harvard University, the Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research in St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN, and the Institute for the Advanced Study of Religion in the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.

Academic interests


He is the author of many articles and seven books, including Theology and the Experience of God, 
Generosity and Gratitude: A Philosophical Psalm, and a forthcoming volume, German Idealism’s 
Trinitarian Legacy. Prof. Schlitt is focusing on two areas of research: relationships among philosophy, theology, and spirituality; and, Trinity and spirituality. At Oblate he presently offers a Ph.D. seminar on Trinity and spirituality and is writing a book on the topic.
